So yeah, Adobe has announced it's sunsetting our good pal Flash.
I was thinking... what'll happen to all the older cartoons and games that run it here on the site, once this takes effect? Can they be converted to html5?

"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."
probabbly no, in my opinion they will just more focus at animate CC. As long it can open previously flashes files it's good for us
@t4upl I appreciate he Bible verse, but that language is ironic here on Newgrounds. Bless.
Tom Fulp was in an interview discussing this very topic.

mp4's still work!!
as long as u keep old Flash programs on your computer, u can still animate, export as an avi or mov and upload as an mp4. Us Flashers will be fine! I'm 29 years old and still use Flash8 LOL
For the games, I really hope a plugin comes around that can replace Flash. Something to keep support for it unofficially. A JS thing would be ideal if it can run directly via the site so people don't need to install it.
Otherwise: you can always install Flash manually. And use old versions. Long as the browser support it... if they don't: install older browsers. Don't think it'll be all too difficult around 2020, but with time... really hope we get something going...

Well, the article says that they'll be phasing it out overtime, so hopefully there will be some kind of substitute. I'm sure combined with the minds at Google, Apple, and the others, they'll find some way not to leave us hanging.
Or I'm wrong, and goodbye childhood flash games.
