@VicariousE, it might not be common knowledge - but in the early eras of the world-wide web, Russia was a real 'Land of the Free'. While web hosting companies on the 'West' were heavily restricted by draconian, restrictive laws, Russian webhosting companies were providing a more liberal web hosting experience for those who didn't feel like living in a nanny state.
I'll always remember that small russian forum I stuck around in during the 2001-2005.
